Expertise

This showcases your areas of expertise and determines the words that will be used by reporters to find you. The database is keyword driven, and so in order for a reporter to find you, the words they use to search must be in your expertise area. With that in mind, please keep your descriptions short and use phrases that tie in to issues in the news.

For example, if you are an expert in natural disasters, list them also instead of just using the phrase "natural disaster." Journalists would likely search on the word for the event, such as "tsunami" or "earthquake." Also, use language you might hear in the news rather than terms more associated with academic research. Reporters are also more likely to search a term like "Mad Cow disease" than "bovine epidemiology."

You may include as many words or phrases as you want, though we may edit and condense.
